The girl walked into the room; she wasn't suppose
to be in here but she couldn't help it. The man was so...so...
interesting.
On the nightstand she found a brown leather wallet
and opened it. In cash there was around $110 dollars. Four
twenties, three tens, six fives, and twelve ones. She didn't
want to know the exact amount. She found a driver's
license, and tons of credit cards. Discover, Visa, American Express,
and gods only knew what other kinds. She
found a library card, a Blockbuster card, and a Warehouse card.
An Office Depot card was in there as well.
Pictures of the man were in there as well. In the
very back a picture showed a woman with sun yellow hair hanging
down to her waist. Her green dress business suit looked very
nice on her and matched her eyes. The two children
standing in front of her would have been considered twins if not for
their hair. One had jet-black hair while the other
had silver. They wore satin white dresses and looked about ten.
She flipped the picture over. "Phoebe Calrissian
and daughters, Selene and Cynthia." The girl couldn't make out
the name of the city. She smiled and put the wallet back on the
table.
She went into his bathroom and opened the medicine
cabinet. Various cough and allergy medicines were on the
top shelf. An Oral-B toothbrush and Colgate toothpaste lay on
the bottom with spearmint dental floss. The girl
gave a short laugh. Gods! Was this guy a nerd or what?
Emergency phone numbers laid on the middle shelf.
How to do various types of life saving maneuvers were taped on the other
side. The girl closed it. Nothing big.
She looked under the sink. A few white towels
with the initials of OTB were embroidered in gold on the towels.
A few wash clothes with the same initials were next to the towels.
Bubble bath, Ajax, a sponge, and a vaporizer were
in the back. In a drawer on the left hand side were trial size
boxes of soap, an extra toothbrush and toothpaste. A
large box of Dial soap was in the back.
When the girl closed the door and looked on the
sink she all most burst into giggles. A Stridex bottle lay in the corner.
After
she calmed down she finally came to terms. Everyone has acne problems.
Some lotion lay next to the bottle as well as a bottle of Wave cologne.
Nothing was interesting in the shower so she decided to leave and go back
to the closet.
She picked up a large box and laid it on the
bed. She opened it and found a red yearbook. The gold numbers
that would've told her the date had been scratched off. The girl
flipped towards the back of the book and began to read.
Hey!
Since this is our last year, I might as well tell you.
I think you're so cute! I've had a crush on you since I met you.
Please! K.I.T 545-9182

Hey buddy!
I can really see you going places! You
probably got good grades in
math, huh?
Talk to you later.
Gary
Well Son it's been a good year. I know you didn't like sports
but you
played hard and well in PE. Hope you have fun in College.
Coach
Sir,
You need to pay the fifteen cents I let you borrow for the
copy machine.
Please do it now.
Amy
In different handwriting it said,
Note: Paid Amy after this message was written.
Other messages about have a great summer and will
miss you, were written all over the place. In the middle
of the book though a large heart had been drawn on the page. Inside
was a message.
I hate to see us go to college. I love you so
much! I hate to see you go to
Yale while I go to UCLA. It's not fair! But I'll always
remember our
Saturday nights. Always. We had fun back then.
I remember all the movies
and all the dinners. I love you. Please, always remember that.
Even on
your wedding day, remember your first love, me. I love you.
XXXX's and OOOOO's,
Love,
The woman's name had been scratched out. The
girl sighed. Bummer. She closed the yearbook and went to
the answering machine. She pressed a button.
"Hi, you have reached
478-2907. Sorry I can't take your call right now but I'm extremely
busy. By the way,
how did you get this number? Everyone calls my cell phone. You know,
it'd be better if you did that instead of
leaving a message."
The girl burst out laughing again. It was in
his voice and he sounded...like he had fun recording the message.
It was
just too funny!
She lay on the bed and cuddled up next to a pillow.
It smelled of his cologne. She sighed. It was so comfortable
here. She turned and watched as the door opened a crack.
She bolted up. Oh gods! He was here!
"Yes Sir, in a minute." She heard someone say to
someone. The door opened and there he was, staring at her. Six
foot one of blonde hair, ice blue eyes, gold rimmed glasses and not
a happy face.
"Lucy!" he said simply. Lucy turned herself
on the bed. Her green eyes staring at him.
"What are you doing in my room?" the man turned
and saw the box. "You went through my yearbooks? What else
did you go through?"
"Your bathroom." Lucy answered as she cast her head
down. Her red hair made a curtain around her face.
The man shook his head. "Curiosity killed that cat."
He said.
"I've died many times." Answered Lucy.
The man smiled. "Put the box away while I go help
Mr. Xanatos. All right?"
"Yes Owen." Replied Lucy as she got off the bed
and took hold of the box.
"And if I ever catch you in my stuff again, I'll
kill you." Owen said as he smiled. Lucy smiled back.
"Yes Owen."
