Hi guys, Almost five months ago (has it been such a short time?) I started Avalon Mists in response to a definite need -- there was so much wonderful creative energy in the Gargoyles fandom, and no practical outlet for it save the rat.org ftp archives. There are now new places for fanfic, but Mists continues to grow at a rate of about one subscriber a day. I had planned at the time to keep it going for as long as there was an interest, but, unfortunately, fate has had other plans for me. It has been a *very* interesting last few months, in the Chinese proverb sense. (May you live in interesting times ...) I simply no longer have time to do the 'zine *and* go to school, and work full time, *and* pursue my own writing. Jill Morrison has (bless her!) volunteered to take over Avalon Mists. ::::Leva kisses Jill's cyberfeet.:::: I trust she'll do a wonderful job, and I can't wait to read the new fanfics she's been talking about. (Her Q story is one of my favorites. ) Jill's address is bx965@FreeNet.Buffalo.EDU, and she's taking over all editorial duties. I thank her very much, and between the third season and the movie, I suspect that Avalon Mists is going to continue to be very popular. Please send submissions to Jill. I'll read 'em if you send 'em at me -- but Avalon Mists is now Jill's. I will still be lurking around, on Mary's listserv and the newsgroup, and as time permits, I'll probably have the odd story or two to submit. (I'd go nuts without my daily writing fix.) Please remember that this address is gonna go byebye shortly; I'm now at leva@primenet.com. ~Leva leva@primenet.com Well, uh ... greetings! :) It seems I'm the new editor of Avalon Mists. I'm 22, a journalism student at St. Bonaventure University in western New York State (near Buffalo.) I've written several things for Avalon Mists: "Turnabout," "Lord, What Fools...!," and "The Exile." I have several other fanfics currently waiting to see the light of day, although tha's not likely until next month ... more on that later. :) I'm truly, truly grateful to Leva Mevis for the chance to take over on AM, and I'm going to attempt to keep it much the same. For this first month, I'm going to be maintaining the system of simply relaying the material on to all of you ... but by late August, early September, I hope to change Avalon Mists back to a weekly issue. You see, on August 23, I'm going to be moving back to college .. and my prefered e-mail system. :) So, until then, send all submissions, requests, etc., to the freenet address ... and after that to morrisjm@sbu.edu. Sorry for the confusion ... I'll remind you when moving day gets closer. ;) So .. let's see some fanfic! Crossovers are near-and-dear to my heart ... and I'd be willing to serialize long stuff. What about alternate episodes? Any suggestions? :) Jill Morrison bx965@freenet.buffalo.edu - I'm not insane ... I'm going sane in an insane world! -
