On a dark Scottish headland, cold rain in my
hair
The hot smell of lightning, burning wood in
the air
From the cave in the distance, I felt a summoning
call
My eyes deceived me and my senses spun
I almost welcomed the fall.
There she was in the cavern;
I heard her voice once more
And I was thinking to myself,
‘Is this heaven or fresh hell from before?'
And their voices were calling as they showed
me the way
There were words in the wind there,
I thought I heard them say...
Farewell to the stones of Castle Wyvern
For a thousand years
For a thousand fears
Nothing but leaves touch the sky at Castle
Wyvern
A lonely place, it's a lonely place
Her mind is tragedy-twisted, she uses merciless
means
She used to be my angel, but she was never
what she seemed
And the few who survived it, destiny set
Some want to remember, some want to forget
Asked the ghost of the Captain,
‘What do you do this for?'
He said, ‘I haven't had the chance to rest
since nine ninety-four'
And all those voices were calling from far
away
Bringing me back to the shadows long past
And I heard them say...
Farewell to the stones of Castle Wyvern
For the thousand years
There's a thousand tears
The spirits don't rest in the stones of Castle
Wyvern
So the sun will rise lighting all the lies
Green glow on the ceiling
A game that fools by twice
And she said ‘We are now the prisoners here,
by your own device'
And in the haunted cavern
Rose up stone restored
Faces, figures in living rock
Shattered by the Viking hoard
Last thing I remember, Elisa's
Calling out my name
I struggled back into the light
But I wasn't quite the same
‘Farewell' said the night wind
‘It is natural to greive.
Though you move on any way you like
Your heart will never leave!'
